In 1961 the famous movie composer Ennio Morricone writes his first music score to a motion picture. 45 years later Carel Kraayenhof collaborates with Morricone to create this album. Carel proposes to the maestro to integrate, beside bandoneón and string orchestra, Irish folk-instruments: uilleann pipes, flute and low whistle. The combination of Kraayenhof and Morricone is magnificent, beautiful and compelling. Morricone states about Carel: “His interpretation is perfect and totally involved, intense and rigorous, and, in my opinion, he makes the instrument work in a non-traditional manner that makes it surprisingly relevant.”

In 1961 schrijft de beroemde Italiaanse filmcomponist Ennio Morricone zijn eerste muziek voor een film. 45 jaar later werkt Carel Kraayenhof met Morricone samen in Rome aan deze cd. Carel stelt de maestro voor om, naast bandoneón en strijkorkest, Ierse folk-instrumenten te integreren: uilleann pipes, flute en low whistle. De combinatie Kraayenhof en Morricone is schitterend, mooi en meeslepend.
