Ville Hiltula was born in 1977 in Ylivieska, Finland. He started his musical career with accordion at the age of nine (9).
Ville studied classical accordion several years from 1992 until 2004 at the Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki, Finland, under Heidi Velamo, Matti Rantanen, Helka Kymäläinen and Marjut Tynkkynen. To complement his accordion studies he attended several masterglasses given by Friedrich Lips, Steffan Hussong, Lars Holm, Richard Galliano and Marcel Azzolla, among many others. Ville worked as a accordion soloist and chamber musician actively widely in different countries in Europe.
Ville studied bandoneóon and Argentinean tango four (4) years from 2002 to 2006 in The Netherlands at The Rotterdam Conservatory`s tango department under Leo Vervelde and Carel Kraayenhof, Victor Hugo Villena and Gustavo Beytelmann.
As a bandoneon player and tango musician Ville has been working actively ever since and collaborated with many world renowned tango artists such as Gustavo Beytelmann, Victor Hugo Villena, Orquesta Tipica OTRA, Roberto Alvarez y su Color Tango, Alfredo Marcucci, Sonia Possetti, Alejandro Schwarz, Leonardo Sanchez, Pablo Agri, and also played together with pop groups El Juntacadáveres and Nuspirit Helsinki. Ville has been playing in Carel Kraayenhof y su Sexteto Canyengue as 2nd bandoneón player since 2005. He has also been playing as a soloist in Astor Piazzolla`s tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires, which was performed all over Belgium during the season 2005-2006 together with Musiques Nouvelles ensemble. He also did another Maria de Buenos Aires production at the Cork Opera House, Ireland, in June 2013 which was performed memorised without any sheet music and involved acting as well. Ville also worked together with Aurelia Saxophone Quartet and the Argentinean pianist Juan Pablo Dobal in the project called Nuevo Encuentro. During the season 2012-2013 Ville were touring widely all over the Netherlands together with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam performing a modern version of Romeo & Julia. Ville has performed in Buenos Aires in Argentina (VIII Festival de Tango Buenos Aires, Teatro Alvear, Teatro San Martin, Casa del Tango, Congreso National de Buenos Aires, Teatro de la Ribera, Carapachay, Confiteria Ideal, La Viruta ), in Europ Russia, Japan &USA. Ville is a founder member of Tangueros Polares, Tangueros Articos, Tanguarda and contemporary tango ensemble Perrito Caliente.
