A happy and healthy 2011

In the year to come Carel Kraayenhof can be listened to in several Dutch churches. Together with pianist Juan Pablo Dobal the bandoneon-player prepares a tour past these small stages, where the duo can perform at its best.A bigger journey he will make this spring to Hongkong to play there with the Hongkong Philharmonic Orchestra the solopart in Astor Piazzolla’s ‘Concert for bandoneon and orchestra’.Also he will perform a lot with his Sexteto Canyengue. With this group he will go to Germany in November for a tour with the theatre-production ‘Compassion’, the show he travelled the Netherlands with during the last season. His success in the Robeco Summerconcerts in 2007 with a group of string-players will have a continuation. During the year Kraayenhof will travel with a string-quartet, completed with bandoneon, double-bass and piano. The cello-player Quirine Viersen will perform in April as solist and as a member of the string-quartet within this ‘Kraayenhof Tango Ensemble’ (KTE). After April the cello-player Eva van de Poll will take over Quirine’s place. On the programme for this year is also the release of a solo-cd by Carel Kraayenhof.
