Carel Kraayenhof, rehearsal in Gotha-(Eastern-)Germany
The first rehearsal under the direction of conductor Herman Breuer went very well. The German pianoplayer Ulrike Payer takes charge of the heavy pianoparts and leader Monica Bores plays the complicated solo in Escualo. All pieces played by Carel with this orchestra have been rehearsed today for the first time together: La Cumparsita, Escualo, El Choclo, Tres Minutos con la Realidad, Oblivion and Avé Maria.Without Carel the orchestra will also play tomorrow La Oracion del Torero by Joaquin Turina and a composition of De Falla.
Carel stays in the Best Western Hotel ‘Der Lindenhof’ in Gotha, a barracks in former Eastern Germany. Opposite this hotel there is ‘Der Lindenhof’, a building used for rehearsals by the orchestra of the army during the GDR. Nowadays it belongs to the Best Western Hotel and the ‘Thüringen Philharmonie’ can rehearse here too. It is an excellent rehearsal-space.Tomorrow the final rehearsal will take place in the Kulturhaus. In the picture: Ulrike Payer (l) and Herman Breuer (r).More information: www.thueringen-philharmonie.de.
