‘Compassion’-director Hans Minnaertand artistic adviser Karel de Rooij get position in Rotterdam

The directors of our show ‘Compassion’ will be busy in the next months. Besides their work with Carel Kraayenhof and Sexteto Canyengue they are going to occupy a new position together at the circus-training of Codarts in Rotterdam. As of the start of the academic year 2009-2010 Hans Minnaert as artistic director and Karel de Rooij as artistic adviser will take care of Rotterdam Circus Arts of Codarts, Academy of the Arts.Hans Minnaert worked for 22 years as a dancer/musician at the International Dance Theatre. In 1998 he became a choreographer and musician by Mini & Maxi. As a trainer-coach Minnaert is involved in the production of a.o. Percossa, De Wereldband, Carel Kraayenhof, diabolo-artist Jonas Zeller and several conservatories.In 1992 he received the Dutch award of merit for the dance, established by Alexandra Radius and Han Ebbelaar.Karel de Rooij is a Dutch theatre-maker. He is mainly known as Mini of the famous couple Mini & Maxi, who with a mixture of mime, musical theatre and clownerie amused a worldwide audience.His career knows many highlights: Silver Rose at the television-festival of Montreux, performance in the Olympia Theatre in Paris, the royal decoration Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion, a.s.o.Mini & Maxi travelled all over the world with great success. With his experience, knowledge and creativity he is an adviser for many young artists.It is no coincidence that he worked with Hans Minnaert in so many occasions.
