Quirine Viersen and Juan Pablo Dobal with Carel Kraayenhof.

On Sunday 31 October the last performance with Sexteto Canyengue will take place for our pianist Sebastiaan van Delft. After 11 years Sebastiaan indicated that after many joyful and exciting years with Canyengue he thinks it is time to explore his other musical interests. He will stay available as our regular stand-in. The Argentinian pianist Juan Pablo Dobal will take his place from 1# November as the pianist of Sexteto Canyengue.Juan Pablo and Carel know each other already for 20 years. At that time they even played together in the band ‘Viento del Sur’ and they very much want their musical friendship to turn into this cooperation with Sexteto Canyengue.

On 5, 6 and 7 April 2011 Carel and Canyengue, completed with the guest-violaplayer Laura van der Stoep and the known cellist Quirine Viersen, will give three beautiful concerts with romantic classical tangomusic. This ensemble, bandoneon, cello, piano, bass, two violins and viola, originates from a project that took place during the Kraayenhof-weekend that Carel had in 2007 in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. On the Saturdaynight he then gave with the ‘Kraayenhof Tango Ensemble’ a breath-taking concert for a sold-out hall. After many requests we decided to restart this project. This ‘nuevo’ tango-ensemble can be booked in the future at our office.Quirine Viersen will not always be available but will then be replaced by the cellist Eva van der Poll, who also led the cellists in the Concertgebouw.
