Sexteto Canyengue in Russia

We get so many phonecalls and emails with questions about the adventures of Carel Kraayenhof y su Sexteto Canyengue in Russia, that this week we will try to keep you posted daily.

Yesterday the group travelled by airplane from Amsterdam to Moscow. In Moscow the transfer to the connection with the aircraft to Yekaterinenburg gave big problems, because the musicians had to depart from another airport than the one on which they arrived. It was only by running very fast with their instruments that they made it to the plane. After a three hours flight they arrived in Yekaterinenburg, where our Russian tourmanager, Josef Dmitriev, was awaiting them. He instantly accompanied our orchestra to the nighttrain which brought Canyengue to Tyumen. There they arrived last night. After a delicious meal of ‘borsjt’ and a couple of hours sleeping Carel had his first meeting with the Russian press today at 16:00 h.The concert tonight in ‘Philharmonic Hall’ (1200 seats) starts at 19:00 h and is almost sold out.
