SIPA festival Solo (Surakarta) big surprise of the Indonesia tour

It was a huge surprise for the Kraayenhof Tango Ensemble to be able to play at the SIPA (Solo International Performing Arts) FEstival in Solo (Surakarta). This enormous open-air festival with daily three acts on a beutiful stage and a minimum of 5000 people in the audience had its second edition. Thanks to the financial support from the Erasmus Huis in Jakarta we travelled on the 30th of September to Solo. This festival lasted 3 days and we played on the last evening. Because of this we had the great honor to be present at the closing ceremonie led by the Minister of Economie and Culture Ibu Marie Eka Pangestu and the Mayor of Solo (now elected Governor of Jakarta) Bapak Joko Widodo.
