Tango-lecture in Heerlen by the Duo Carel Kraayenhof and Juan Pablo Dobal

This lecture of Carel and Juan Pablo will be done in the form of a concert with an introduction by the played pieces, about the history of the bandoneon, the tango and folklore, with an antholology of the works of the Argentinian tango-maestros and also of their own compositions.

“We take the audience on a musical trip through Argentina, which starts in Buenos Aires in the first half of the last century with the tango-habanera, the Creole waltz (vals criollo) and the city-milonga.

Next we travel the interior and play folklore-rhythms as zamba,guarania, chacarera and cueca and milonga campera.

At last we return to the Buenos Aires of the fifties and later as the tango took other forms under the influence of composers as Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgan and Astor Piazzolla.”
