The ‘Fries Project Orkest’ with guest appearance by the Kraayenhof Tango Ensemble

On May 10, 2012 the Kraayenhof Tango Ensemble led by Carel Kraayenhof will be a guest appearance in the Theatre Harmonie in Leeuwarden. At invitation of the Fries Project Orkest, this evening performing their “Tengo Tango!” program, the Kraayenhof Tango Ensemble will play a small part of their program PURE after the break.

Set 1:

The Tengo Tango!-Orchestra is led by conductor and arranger Frans Vermeerssen. The for this occasion specially formed Tengo Tango!-orchestra includes 20 musicians from the province Friesland and elsewhere. The repertoire includes traditional and contemporary tango pieces by for instance Chico Novarra, Astor Piazzolla and our own Malando. Vermeerssen has written new arrangements on these pieces with a touch of jazz and some Arabic influences. The South American singer of Frisian soil, Denise Rivera, performs the pieces Acompanada y Sola, Violetas populares and the famous song Alfonsina y el Mar together with the Tengo Tango!-orchestra. Guest soloist Carel Kraayenhof will perform Piazzolla’s composition Oblivion.
