[2006] In 1961 schrijft de beroemde Italiaanse filmcomponist Ennio Morricone zijn eerste muziek voor een film. 45 jaar later werkt Carel Kraayenhof met Morricone samen in Rome aan deze cd.
Carel stelt de maestro voor om, naast bandoneón en strijkorkest, Ierse folk-instrumenten te integreren: uilleann pipes, flute en low whistle. De combinatie Kraayenhof en Morricone is schitterend, mooi en meeslepend. Morricone zei over Carel: ”His interpretation is perfect and totally involved, intense and rigorous, and, in my opinion, he makes the instrument work in a non-traditional manner that makes it surprisingly relevant.”
