[2002] De cd ‘Tango Royal’ kwam uit direct na de huwelijksvoltrekking van koning Willem Alexander met koningin Máxima, met als hoogtepunt het ontroerende ‘Adiós Nonino, en de ’traan van Máxima’. De videobeelden hiervan werden door ruim 55 miljoen mensen wereldwijd bekeken.
Met zijn Sexteto Canyengue, het Concertgebouw Kamerorkest en het Nederlands Kamerkoor, onder leiding van Ed Spanjaard, speelt Carel diverse composities van Piazzolla naast zijn eigen werken.

The cd ‘Tango Royal’ was released directly after the wedding ceremony of king Willem Alexander of the Netherlands and queen Máxima, with as highlight the compelling ‘Adiós Nonino’, and the ’tear of Máxima’. De video images were broadcasted troughout the world and were witnessed by over 55 million people.
With his Sexteto Canyengue, the Concertgeboue Chamber Orchestra and the Dutch Chamber Choir, conducted by Ed Spanjaard, Carel interpretes several works of Piazzolla as well as his own compositions.
